The ninth Pet Shop Boys studio album, Fundamental, followed in May, reaching a strong No. 5 in their home country. The album was produced by Trevor Horn, who Pet Shop Boys had beforehand worked with on “Left to My Own Devices”, in 1988.

The tune was adopted into a soccer chant at Arsenal Football Club (which Chris Lowe helps) and is heard at grounds all through Europe to this day[when? During this era, Pet Shop Boys continued to collaborate with many excessive-profile musicians.

Following a stay stint on the John Peel show on Radio 1, Pet Shop Boys launched Disco three, in February 2003.
